Remove Yoast index, follow meta?

I’ve used your code which adds the noindex, nofollow meta in the header when “Exclude from Search Results” is checked.

However, the Yoast meta for index, follow is still there in the source code. Is there any way to remove the Yoast index, follow meta when adding your noindex, nofollow meta? Otherwise, it seems it might defeat the purpose.
